Walk to the Cross
Jumonville is known for the 60' cross that sits atop the hill and overlooks the valley. The sweeping views and majestic heights attract year round visitors.
Visitors are welcome to take a hike up to the cross any day between dawn and dusk. There is a paved walking path with benches along the route. Please park in the parking lot at the base of the hill (along Old Braddock Road).
The walk is less than 1/2 a mile but has a significant incline. If you have mobility issues or would simply prefer to drive, you will first need to sign out a gate opener from the office (open Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm).
*Please note the road is closed to vehicles during the winter.*
Summer Camp
Summer Camp is the cornerstone of ministry at Jumonville. Hundreds of campers come each summer for a week of fun and fellowship! We offer a variety of programs for a variety of ages.
Family Week
Family Week has been a traditional part of Jumonville’s summer camp program for over 80 years. Held toward the end of July each year, this 8 day 7 night event is a favorite for hundreds of faithful “Family Weekers” that make the journey every year. New Families qualify for a discount their first year!

Jumonville Camp & Retreat Center sits on 200 acres atop Chestnut Ridge in Hopwood, Pennsylvania. Created for community and called to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ through mountaintop experiences, Jumonville has served thousands of campers, families, retreat guests, and volunteers for more than 75 years. We believe time away from the everyday can change people in ways that last.
