Retreat Reviews & Evaluations
Loved the new coffee bar in the Welcome Center!
This is one of the most remarkable places I have ever experienced. I have enjoyed so much love and fellowship here; have made great friends and spent time talking to God.
Jumonville is great. The facilities are amazing and the only thing better is the staff!
We had a great experience. We really created unity with our student body and had two students recommit their lives to Christ. – pastor
We walked to the Cross on Saturday night, and it was the highlight of the weekend. You were as close to Him there than anywhere else you will ever be.
The food quality was plentiful, delicious, and we loved the salad bar. Great meal chart [of menu ingredients]on allergies!! So helpful!
It was awesome. Great facilities, good food, and helpful, friendly staff, we’ll definitely be back.
Our men had a great opportunity to relax and get refreshed. The experience there with praise and worship and teaching led to several breakthroughs spiritually for our men.
The beauty of the camp and scenery was breathtaking. The hike to the Cross, seeing it so tall and large for all to see from afar was very moving and awesome. We really enjoyed our surroundings.
God resides there. The Presence of God is tangibly felt.
We had a first rate cabin, great food and fellowship with friends, a campfire, fun, and Jesus showed up!
We appreciate and love the Jumonville family. We are always well cared for. We want for nothing while we are there.
Jumonville is a Holy Place. God’s presence is palpable in the crisp mountain air, the view from the Cross, interactions with the staff, and the time set apart from the everyday world. Our program in Ann Murphy was the spiritual highlight of our weekend.
The food was cooked to perfection, lots of variety and great coffee!
Our church is very much struggling, but declared today that no child of our church would miss the opportunity to attend Jumonville …. No matter what. There is no place like it!
The California University of Pennsylvania Network for Accomplished Teaching (CALNAT) sponsored a four-day intensive writing retreat at Jumonville to assist teachers in their journey to achieve National Board Certification, the Nation’s highest certification in teaching. The Inn was the ideal setting allowing for individual and group collaborative work in a peaceful and comfortable environment. We plan to return for a summer National Board Preparation Retreat this summer and will certainly be back next January. – Dr. Beverly J. Melenyzer, NBPTS Facilitator, California University of Pennsylvania
“I was able to relax and concentrate on the huge, but honored task ahead of me. The spacious, homey atmosphere helped me to feel more comfortable away from my family. We even hiked up to the beautiful cross! I am certainly looking forward to coming back in the summer to continue my endeavor.” – Debra Soltis, candidate for NBCT
“Growing up in the area, the Jumonville camp has provided a quiet, reflective place through the various phases of my life. Now, as I complete the rigorous National Board process, the Inn and camp again met my needs for a quiet, reflective setting and homey atmosphere at the Inn. The camp staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs.” – Michelle Komacek, Uniontown Area School District, NBCT candidate
“The Inn at Jumonville was such a peaceful place to have a writing retreat. With its homelike atmosphere, I was able to relax and reflect on my writing. It also enabled me to participate in “family” conversations with my colleagues. When I was younger, I attended Jumonville for camp. What a nice opportunity to come back and revisit from a different perspective. Thank you for your hospitality!” – Shelly Cardinale
“I thought that the Inn was an ideal place for the writing retreat. It is such a peaceful place work in a relaxing atmosphere. I really was able to focus on my writing. We were able to work as a group or as an individual, whatever our needs were. I attend camp here over the summer and know how much of a benefit it is in allowing me to focus. Thank you!” – Jim Poindexter Take 1 candidate
